Woolen Care Tips

Wool is probably the first animal fiber to be made in cloth. The woolen need a lot of care not only in being worn but also in being kept for the time they are not in use. The woolens do not wrinkle easily and also have the property to absorb the moisture well.

Yet there are a few things that need to be kept in mind for their long- term sustainable use:

Use the prescribed liquid detergent to wash them. Read the instructions carefully and get started.

1.While keeping them in the closet make sure they are kept along with the naphthalene balls as the wool is more prone to attacks by the silverfish and other insects that harm the fabric.

2.Woolen blankets and others require cleaning at least two to three times a year.

3.Soil and dust can be wiped out from the woolens by using a wool brush to brush it off.

4.If your woolen garments smell damp, put them to dry out in open sunlight to get rid of the musty smell.

5.If the garment's label reads dry- clean only, go only for dry- cleaning as washing it at home may ruin the fabric.

6.To get rid of the stains from the woolens use a clean cloth and rub it on the stains to lighten them, then soak them in luke- warm water, use the woolen detergent to rub off the stains clean.

7.Never wriggle the garment too hard, gently squeeze it to rinse the water.

8.Before leaving out the garment to dry in sun light never hang the garment on a hanger or the string instead lay it flat on the area to dry.
